The Walking Dead

Anybody who knows me knows that i LOVE zombie movies. The more violent, the more bloody the better.

I have to be honest here and say that when i heard that there was going to be a TV show about zombies i was a little apprehensive. I figured that it would be diluted to appeal to a wider audience and so would not be as good. Was i right? Hell no!!

It's A-MAY-ZING! It's action packed, It's violent, It's funny, It's sad. It's freaking awesome is what it is!

Brilliant. Just brilliant!

Unexpected presents from the boyfriend

My so called better half came over yesterday and surprised me with this..

I love non-fiction books about random things. The first book by these guys i read was called 'Freak-onmics' and it was very good. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm looking forward to cracking open this bad boy. May not be for a little while though as I'm currently reading 'Dawn of the Dumb' by Charlie Brooker and next on the list is 'Screen Burn' Also by Charlie Brooker - although i should have technically read Screen Burn first, but it makes no difference really. So yeah this one is now added to the pile and i can't wait to read it.

Tremors

I first saw this film when i was 10. It scared the crap outta me! After watching it again as an adult i have no idea at all how the hell it scared me! It's not scary in the slightest.

It's now one of my all time favourite movies. Sure, it's not the most amazing movie - theres no real special effects, the creature is anamatronic and it's quite cheesy film - however it's made with a kind of tongue in cheek attitude and the people who made it say themselves that it's really a homage to the old creature feature movies of the 1950's.

If you haven't seen it, it was made in 1990 and basically natives of a small isolated town defend themselves against strange underground creatures which are killing them one by one. Basic but brilliant i say!

If don't like the idea of seeing it, that's cool. But i warn you now.. you will be missing out on a young Kevin Bacon all hot and sweaty...

Mad Men

I am so in love with this freakin' programme right now! I've watched it practically non stop at the moment.

I so wanna be a 50's housewife. So it's repressive and people smoke and drink constantly.. who cares! I'd get to wear pretty dresses and bake fabulous pies! 

What more could a girl ask for?
